Recap

I survived! Yesterday was one hell of a day!

First I got my CPR & AED cert. That was a breeze, cpr has changed since last I was cert. The AED was very cool.

Next I was set up as a "third" with a training crew. I was taken to their location by another transport lady, she was awesome, and funny as hell.

Now Jihadgene reminded me about the "funny" I was supposed to post. Well sorry bud, just picture me for a sec. Since I didn't have a uniform, they made me wear a jumpsuit. This "jumpsuit" was navy blue with day-glow reflective stripes, with huge letters on the back. I had to wear that from around 10am to 2pm. I looked like a fool, to top it off every time we ran into another ambulance from our company I was dragged over to show them the "new" jumpsuits. I got a laugh out of it though. It WAS a nice jumpsuit, and most of the comments were "Who the hell made you wear THAT??" After leaving for the day, I promptly went and picked out my uniform, informing them I would hem the pants and put the patch on myself. I would not be wearing THAT again. Sorry no pics, I will be getting a camera phone soon though!

I learned allot and also learned some a-holes look down on transport people. Well fuck them, I have a thicker skin then that.

Oh by the way, the boots I got made my hubby, daughter and future son-in-law cry in envy. They are sweet! Hubby wants a pair, maybe for Christmas. I had a voucher for $50 off, so I could afford them.

I'm off to catch up shit around here.......stay safe!

ah yes, the infamous "you are below me, I will treat you like shit." Yes, it never does seem to go away and some folks have more of a penchant for it than others. Paramedics always treated me like sh1t when I worked in the ED as a secretary and then as a nurses aid. I hear nurses tend to treat the paramedics like shit. I always try to be nice to the transport folks cause I don't give a shit if you are a paramedic, emt, or Joe off the street. Really just don't care. Just bring me the patient in one piece if at all possible.
