Work update, just for Snowman;)

I can't say too much about work, even though some know I have a blog, nobody knows the link. I've never used the station's computers to read this blog etc.

So here's an outline...

My partner is an asshole, and his driving was getting out of hand. Company policy states "If you know somebody is breaking the rules and you don't report them, you get the same punishment." Well this girl is saving her butt in more ways then one. I reported him, like quite a few before me. So far the idiot hasn't had anything happen to him, yet. We are now in a van that has a "tattle-tale" box in it. Records speed etc. This is the only reason he has slowed down. The driving thing is only the tip of the iceverg. He treats me like shit, bossing me around etc. Well it's ending.......now. I'm not a stupid newbie anymore, he's starting to realize he's f&*kin' with the wrong chick. I told him last night he has 4 more months with me, hope he enjoys it;) (4 months to the next shift bid begins).

One way to end most of our in van problems is having ME drive. But the asshole claims he gets car sick in the back with the patients. I've found out that's a bold face lie. From the guy who trained him no less. Also he insists on listening to Christmas music.......all day and all night. For the last two weeks. I started driving on Monday and told him if he touches that dial I would break his arm, and I wasn't kidding. That's the only way I'll get control back, is me driving, plus I need the practice.

AARGH! I could go on for three more pages, but I feel for you guys, you get the picture. I'm Soooo frustrated! The stupervisors better do something, how many times can a person get written up?

Ok so I did say alot.......sorry, I'm venting. I'll keep you all posted this week, I promise;)

A bad partner can make any job painful.

Partners can be either great or shitty... In my line of work it's the Officers who make my life hellish...

When they start grumbling I simply tell them to surrender their gun and I will play the police officer and they can play dispatcher (they hate covering the desk). They stop grumblin after that and all I can do is smile..

Email and vent to me anytime. I worked with a crew of assholes at the group homes I was at many years ago I know your pain.

Glad to hear you told doofus you'd break his arm. Next thing is to get some lunch bags for him when he's in the back! Sound like he doesn't want to do any patient care.

Happy Thanksgiving and hugs!

Great to let the vent out. =O)

Don't know of any advice to give for you have rationalized the situation just fine. Grab the wheel and put yourself in control. It's high time for him to be out of his comfort zone and for you to establish yours.

If he can't deal, he'll go on his way at some point. Wishing you well in the meantime. You go girl - do what ya gotsa do.

And you can throw it in his face that the only way to overcome the sickness is to ride, ride, ride in the back.

If I get really sick in stop and go traffic I sit in the captains chair, but usually sit beside the patient. And the heat? It gets shut off when we get going. Usually people have warmed up enough and don't complain.

Good luck.
