While slaving away at my hubby's flea market my youngest calls me. She explains she's doesn't want to be a nurse anymore. She is upset, we had a deal, if she wants to get married, and us pay for it, she has to go to college. So she tells me she she'd rather be a paramedic. I say cool:) She worries dad will get mad for not staying the course. I say nope he won't, you are still going to "school". He comes home and gives her a huge hug:) It was a Kodak moment. Big sister isn't mad either, she had the same response. So Jenn will finish the semester, then go to EMT school and then work. Maybe she'll go onto Medic, maybe not. I told her I'd pay for EMT courses (which are cheap compared to college) then we'll see what the future holds.
I have my new phone all ready to go..........on to the fun;) My partner better behave himself, or he'll have some embarrassing pics posted on this blog;)....well they will probably STILL be posted here;)
I am still looking for a new car, I may go out Thursday for some test drives. I checked my credit rating and it's very good, so I have some power with financing. The loan will be in my name......first time I ever did that, all by myself.
Life is good, but damn I'm tired:( Stay safe everybody!

remember me, the putz....i rode with the paramedics once to get an idea of what twest questions i should design for promotion in the ranks and we came on an accident, pretty bad ,,little boy screaming in a wreck, and i stepped back to let the paramedics do there job and write my questions, when a bystander said, aren't you going to get in thedre and hel...i saw you ride up with thm, and i was embarassed..had no trainning and i was writing questions for them
also i am a dallas fan, i just hope jessica rabbit simpson lets tony romo rest between games and doesn't wer him out in the bedroom

If she becomes a paramedic she could become a firefighter if she wanted. She also could go back into nursing later. As long as she can make a paycheck. Another job to consider may be scrub tech. They are really needed around here. Not sure about around your place.

There are lots of opportunities for EMT's and if she ever changes her mind, nursing school will still be there!
Tz- yep, she hates school.....she just wants to get on with her life.
Did it for a decade and I teach part-time in the curriculum paramedic program at a local community college. Great field, but nursing definitely opens up your options...you can travel and get paid MOOGABUCKS, be an ER nurse, do critical care transport, fly, whatever you want. The plus side of nursing is that if she gets sick of emergency medicine, she can do many, many other things with it. There are few other opportunities for paramedics other than an ambulance or occasionally urgent care of ER. Just wanted to give you a hint from someone who burned out after 10 years and needed a change. Glad you are totally supportive of her, though. Hope she finds her place!
